Funding vital research
Brain Research Trust is the umbrella charity for research into conditions of the brain and nervous system. We were established in 1971 to promote and support research into the causes, treatment, prevention and cure of neurological diseases.

We fund basic and clinical research at neurological centres of excellence throughout the United Kingdom. Since Brain Research Trust was founded, we have given over £40 million to the IoN to help finance their research programmes and PhD studentships.

There are more than 250 neurological conditions. With your support Brain Research Trust can continue investigating conditions including Alzheimer's Disease, Brain Tumours, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Parkinson's Disease, Epilepsy, Motor Neurone Disease, Migraine, CJD, Brain Trauma and Spinal Cord Regeneration. See our research section for further information.

We do not receive any government funding and we rely on the generosity of our supporters. To enable our life-saving research to continue, please donate or help us in other ways.

In the words of one of our supporters, 'There are so many charities out there - it's good to know a single conduit for "doing our bit" for all these miserable conditions'.
