Would you like to be a tissue donor to help research into neurological diseases?

NeuroResource is a tissue bank based in the Institute of Neurology, University College London, which provides central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) tissue for vital clinical and scientific research on the cause and treatment of neurological disorders.

The tissue bank accepts donations of tissue from patients who have a neurological disease such as multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, stroke, brain tumours, migraine or chronic pain. Because donations are accepted from a number of neurological disorders we are able to help many researchers.

Donations from people without a neurological disorder are also essential as research on both normal and neurological disease tissue is necessary to gain new insights on disease processes and also for furthering understanding of the healthy nervous system.

We understand that this is a delicate subject, but human tissue is an irreplaceable resource for research into disease processes. We are very conscious of the ethical aspects of tissue banking and informed consent for tissue donation is always obtained.

To register with NeuroResource, send the completed forms for donor registration to the tissue bank and a credit card size donor card with contact details will be sent to you.
