Jeremy Joseph

Mr and Mrs Aubrey Drage of Northwood saw one of our advertisements.With their 50th Wedding Anniversary fast approaching, they decided that instead of gifts, they would ask their friends to donate money to our charity.

They chose the Brain Research Trust to receive these donations because their son in law, Jeremy, had died from a brain tumour in October 2002. As a result of the generosity of their many friends, Mr & Mrs Drage were able to give a substantial gift to the Brain Research Trust in support of brain tumour research.

Jeremy Joseph was only 41 when he passed away from the brain tumour that had been diagnosed only six weeks earlier.

He left behind his wife of 19 years, Amanda, and sons, Andrew and James.

Jeremy had an endearing personality and had a positive effect on everyone he met. He always found the good in people and never had a bad word to say.

He was a keen sportsman and played football for Kenton Club well into his twenties and during that time managed the club’s youth teams. When he reached his thirties he continued to play five a side football on a regular basis.

When his son, Andrew, was old enough to play football he decided to assist David Jacobs as manager at Brady Maccabi, and then went on to manage his own team at London Lions.

He was a loving husband and a doting father. His proudest moments were watching Andrew perform a drum solo for the Barnet School of Music at the BBC Hippodrome, and when James signed to play fooball for Watford Youth Team.

Unassuming, modest and always with a smile on his face, Jeremy’s death was a huge loss to all who knew him and four years later it is felt just as deeply.
