Ann McAuley's story

Ann has held several successful jewellery parties at her home in Glasgow

Since her retirement Ann McAuley has taken every opportunity to raise money for charity through her life-long passion for jewellery design. She has held several jewellery parties in Glasgow in aid of Brain Research Trust.

“I heard about Brain Research Trust when your leaflet came through my door a few years ago. My nephew died in 2006 from a brain tumour and my late husband’s nephew has also had several operations to remove a benign tumour, so I knew I wanted to do something."

"The first jewellery party I held I invited friends and family to my house and sold jewellery I had designed; in total we raised £100. For the second party my niece took some of my best pieces into work and showed them to colleagues in her office. They proved a hit and we raised another £100!”
